How the Great Recession Came to Be – Movies to Watch

There are a lot of independent recountings and dramatizations out there about how the last and greatest recession came about.  Two of my favorites, which I have seen multiple times, describe the onset and the bailout processes in pretty accurate detail.  There's a lot of background on our claim of "financial wallpaper" creation, and how even the government turned a blind eye to the abuses which threatened the entire global financial system.

First, for how it all started, watch "The Big Short" (2015)Then, picking up right as the Big Short leaves off, see "Too Big to Fail"  (2011)

I guarantee these will educate you about WHY you need to be very wary when everyone else is betting on "can't lose" exuberance.  If there are portions of these stories that need explanation, I am happy to answer questions here in the AP Blog.  Just write us a comment on this blog post. Happy viewing!
